Our Team

  • Abby Bange MS RD MHCA

Abby is a mental health counselor and registered dietitian and most importantly a parent. She has worked in the field of health and wellness for almost 20 yrs and has a dual Masters from Bastyr University. In the past she worked in Seattle at the Moore Center for eating disorders and Seattle Children’s research department before leaving the city for rural medicine and living. Currently Abby works at Lake Chelan Community hospital and has a private practice. In her private practice Abby specializes in eating disorder recovery, balancing and understanding nervous system response and looks at health through the lens of our personal web of wellness.

Abby had the idea to develop this program to support female identifying kids in this transition from kid to teen. Teens and really all humans can look at external sources for self worth and self confidence, not to over simply it, but this can lead to harmful behaviors like eating disorders and other things to help ease the anxiety of fitting in. We created this camp to be more like a psychoeducational retreat to give kids a tool kit and some foundational understanding of themselves.

  • Lisa Swihart MS LMHC CN PCC

Lisa is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Nutritionist, an Professional Certified Coach with over 20 years of experience in behavioral healthcare. Her background includes providing consultation to the Nisqually Indian Tribe’s HeadStart program, developing treatment plans for at-risk teenaged girls living in a therapeutic group home or foster home, and helping people improve stress, anxiety, insomnia, and relationships, whether it is ones relationship with self, food, or other people. Lisa believes that when stress, anxiety and relational problems occur, self-care gets de-prioritized, which leads to feeling overwhelmed. She understands that distracting behaviors and avoidance strategies act as unhealthy coping mechanisms. In her work as an integrative therapist, she teaches tools and techniques that help improve communication, self-awareness, healthy coping skills, and self-care. In her free time, Lisa spends time laughing and creating memories with her teenaged daughter, dances, and goes on song bike rides (STP-style). Lisa loves working with others and is excited to be part of Camp Mariposa this summer.
